An ambitious, curious and diligent UX/UI designer with more than 5 years of work experience, looking for the next challenge in his career.
An overview of my work related activities, in the work process section it will be explained how and when my skills are used.
Setting up the user flow and mapping interactions within the product at an early stage.
The design process where the visual elements are developed according to the needs of the target group.
Transforming the design into a product. I like to support developers with a good know how of HTML/CSS.
From personas and scenarios to competitive analysis, a broader and better picture can be created of the user's wishes and needs.
Have the product tested by the (end) user. Give the user a scenario and watch and record in an investigative way. You can gain new insights by stepping outside your own framework.
From fairly simple prototypes such as paper prototype or a clickable wireframe to complex prototypes of the product, new insights and possible bottlenecks within the product can come to light.
There are many different development processes when developing a product, here I will briefly try to explain what my work process is, which aspects are involved in developing a product.
Terms and working methods such as Agile and Scrum are certainly familiar to me, which means that several components regularly run simultaneously during a process.
What is the purpose of the product? What are the target groups? What are the needs of this target group? How are we going to achieve this?
These are all questions that need to be answered prior to a project.
A competition analysis, target group description, persona and market analysis are just a few examples of tools that can be used in the research to show the client the different possible directions.
Setting up the user flow, through which steps the user will reach the correct information. What information should be shown at all and how can the user find this in the most effective and user-friendly way.
The tools I work with are mainly wireframes supported by a sitemap. With this I try to map out all interactions and connections.
Choices for colors and shapes, how do these suit the target group? How do we seduce users and encourage them to take action?
The question is understood, we know the material. This is the point where the design process begins. Setting up a style guide, logos and other visual elements are covered within this section. The app or site is designed in a process of concepts, elaborations and corrections.
With the help of a prototype, you quickly find out how a product works and whether the intended effect is achieved. By testing with a specific scenario, it can be made clear which steps the user must take towards his goal.
During the phase to test the user flow in practice, this can be converted into a working prototype at an early stage.
A prototype could easily be made by a clickable wireframe. During testing, the focus will mainly be on interaction and some functionalities or styling elements will not yet have been fully processed, see it more as a roadmap through the app or website.
Translating design into a product.
With a reasonable knowledge of HTML / CSS, I can develop a website layout myself where a developer can go through parts faster.
If it is now a virtual style guide to developing elements within the website, I like to support in the development process, so there is less noise between the design and development process. I am not (yet) a full Front-end developer, but I am always willing to expand my knowledge and skills.
Have the set goals been achieved?
In this final phase, the product is extensively tested for bugs or errors. If there is room for it, a study could be set up with improvements or adjustments that can be taken up for a new version.
Software mastery/skills
ProCC is a software company from Vlaardingen with its goal to simplify business management in greenhouse horticulture with the help of apps and an online platform for labor and crop registration.
At ProCC I work as the UX/UI Designer within the company to expand and improve the various functionalities within the applications and the online platform. This in the midst of a small-scale team of mainly developers provides a very dynamic work environment with direct lines. Because of this I am involved from the beginning with the proverbial drawing board up to the development of the product, which only makes my work more challenging.
I also work as a designer for various purposes within the company, both online and offline and i am also partly responsible for marketing and communication within the company, a very dynamic working environment.
Within Anywhere365 I work within a design team with various professionals who are responsible for the various design elements within and outside the company. With a relatively small design within a larger organization, every designer has his specialism and activities within the larger whole, but is certainly also worked together as a team. Anywhere365 is an international company with a focus on 'Cloud Contact Center for the Microsoft Ecosystem'.
The activities are diverse due to the structure of the design team and during my working period I was mainly responsible for designing and / or developing design issues within the company as a UX/UI Designer. This can range from co-developing and designing a Wordpress website to designing different presentations to visuals, a very diverse spectrum.
Within ASoltions I work as a designer within the company. Hereby I help create concepts and make designs for it and even support developers in the development of various apps and websites.
In the company I am the only designer this can be a little challenge. Within a project I can be responsible for the development of a concept, interaction design, visual design and development in HTML/CSS.
With projects you should be able to think of designing apps for iOS and Android and various websites, the clients are mainly active in (digital)healthcare.
Graduation assignment for the study Communication & Multimedia Design (CMD) at the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences. "Design of an e-learning content builder".
aNewSpring offers a platform with which external trainers can independently develop an e-learning course. However, back then this development of a e-learning course within this platform was experienced as difficult.
As a graduation assignment I have designed and developed a prototype that makes the creation of an e-learning course more efficient, more extensive and easier to use within the existing platform.
Internship for the study Communication & Multimedia Design (CMD) at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences. During this internship I was active in the departments of Design and Interaction Design within the company.
